The Skybound Sea

From whence She fell, She shall rise again.

The sky bleeds.  The earth groans.  The sea rises.

All that the demons have come to work for, the many lives they have lost and claimed, the carnage and misery they have sown in their wake, is about to be made complete.  With their revered patriarch at their head, they march for the Island of Jaga, the final resting place of their mother, the Kraken Queen.  Creation itself screams as she claws at the walls of her prison, ready to rejoin her children and preside over a drowning world.

The netherlings, intent on delivering her death for darker purposes, sail with an army of steel and fire to meet their demonic foes, not willing to let them drown a world they feel should rightfully burn.  And standing between them both lies an army of savage lizardmen, intent on making this island a floating tomb for demon and mortal alike.

All Lenk has to do to stop the end of the world is get past them all.

And the inhuman assassins dispatched to kill him.  And the unearthly voice possessing his body.  And his own companions.  And the woman he loves who wouldn’t mind seeing him dead.

Should be easy enough.

Black Halo

When it comes to demons, nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

Fresh from their adventures and having reclaimed the Tome of the Undergates, the malefic doorway between earth and hell and all the vile creations that desperately wish to break through, Lenk and his companions are weary.  Weary of the bloodshed, weary of the demons and berserker warrior women out to kill them and, most of all, weary of each other.

More than eager to return the tome to its rightful owner, collect their reward and be done with each others’ paranoia and distrust, their voyage home is delayed by a sudden shipwreck.  Riding a black tide to a floating graveyard posing as an island, filled with monsters posing as people, the companions are faced with new challenges.  Even as bloodthirsty lizardmen hunt them, as voices from hell torment them, as a sadistic beast masquerading as a man seeks them, their greatest struggle may be surviving themselves.

Not that the imminent threat of dismemberment is helping at all.

Tome of the Undergates

Adventurer.

The name never uttered without scorn, they are long loathed for their knowledge of nothing beyond violence and greed and their utter disregard for human life, least of all their own.

And Lenk, a young man with a sword in his hand and a voice in his head, counts them as his closest company.

Charged with retrieving the Tome of the Undergates, a written key to a world long forgotten by mankind and home to creatures determined to return, Lenk is sent after ancient evangelical demons, psychotic warrior women and abominations lost to myth.  Against them, he has but two weapons: a piece of steel and five companions as eager to kill each other as they are to help him.
